C10: Design Thinking & Industrial Design

Aim:
To create a simple, low-cost version of your idea and learn from testing it.

Requirements:

  • Cardboard or paper

  • Scissors, glue, tape

  • Sketch of your design idea

  • Friend or classmate to test it

Steps:

  1. Look at your sketch from Lesson 3.

  2. Make small improvements or changes based on what you learned.

  3. Use materials like cardboard to build a basic version (prototype).

  4. Ask someone to test or try using it.

  5. Observe carefully—what works? What doesn’t?

  6. Write down your findings.

  7. Make changes and test again!

Working:

Students gain hands-on experience with creating and testing. They learn that feedback leads to better versions of their design.
