C10: Design Thinking & Industrial Design

Aim:
To evaluate everyday objects based on how well they are designed.

Requirements:

  • Three household or classroom items (e.g., spoon, water bottle, school bag)

  • Worksheet or notebook for recording observations

  • Pencil or pen

Steps:

  1. Choose three commonly used objects.

  2. Use each object and observe:

    • Is it comfortable?

    • Is it safe?

    • Does it look good?

    • Is it made of the right material?

  3. Fill out your worksheet comparing each item on the above points.

  4. Decide which one is the best designed and explain why.

Working:

Students will explore real-life objects and learn how design affects everyday experience through hands-on observation and comparison.
