C6 : Design Thinking and Innovation

Aim:
To discover what small challenges someone else faces in daily life by asking questions and listening carefully.

Materials Required:

  • Printed interview worksheet or a notebook

  • Pen or pencil

  • A classmate, sibling, parent, or teacher to interview

Steps:

  1. Choose a person to interview — someone you see every day (e.g., friend, teacher, parent).

  2. Politely ask them if they are willing to answer a few questions.

  3. Ask open-ended questions that help you understand their routine and small problems. Example questions:

    • What do you enjoy doing every day?

    • What is something small that bothers you often?

    • If you could change one thing in your day, what would it be?

  4. Write down their answers carefully.

  5. Think about what they said — what do they really need? What could make their day better?

Working of the Activity:

When you ask questions and really listen, you learn about what others feel and need. This helps you design better solutions because you’re not just guessing — you’re solving the real problem for a real person.
