Electricity always takes the path of least resistance. If the wires in a circuit are not joined properly, the current may:
- Leak out (causing shocks or sparks),
- Jump across a gap (causing short circuits), or
- Heat up the joint (leading to fire hazards).
That is why good electrical connections are as important as the wires themselves. A weak or loose joint is like a cracked water pipe—water (current) leaks and is wasted, sometimes dangerously.
