C7: Design Thinking and Innovation

Aim:
To understand the daily challenge of another person through an interview.

Requirements:

  • Printed interview sheet or notebook

  • Pen or pencil

  • Interview partner (e.g., school cleaner, teacher, grandparent, helper)

Steps:

  1. Choose a person whose work you’d like to learn about.
This could be someone you see every day but haven’t spoken to deeply.

  2. Ask questions like:

    • “What’s the hardest part of your day?”

    • “What task takes too much time or energy?”

    • “If you could change one thing about your work, what would it be?”

  3. Take notes during or right after the conversation.

  4. Reflect on what the person told you.

    • What problem do they face?

    • How do they feel about it?

Working of the Activity:
This interview helps you see a problem through someone else’s eyes.
When you understand their feelings and needs, you’re more likely to create something truly useful.
