C7: Design Thinking and Innovation

Now that you’ve discovered a problem and learned about the person facing it, it’s time to think of smart ways to help.
Good designers don’t just guess—they use methods to stretch their imagination.
One helpful tool is called SCAMPER, which stands for:

  • S – Substitute

  • C – Combine

  • A – Adapt

  • M – Modify

  • P – Put to another use

  • E – Eliminate

  • R – Reverse

Using SCAMPER helps you come up with fresh, creative ideas.
