C8: Blinker Circuit + PCB Soldering

Aim:
To build a basic LED blinker using a capacitor on a breadboard.

Requirements:

  • Breadboard

  • LED

  • Resistor (470Ω)

  • Capacitor (100µF)

  • 9V battery

  • Jumper wires

Steps:

  1. Place the LED on the breadboard (note polarity: long leg = +ve).

  2. Connect the 470Ω resistor to the anode (long leg) of the LED.

  3. Place the capacitor across the circuit (note polarity: longer leg is positive).

  4. Connect jumper wires and the 9V battery carefully.

Observe: The LED should blink repeatedly as the capacitor charges and discharges.
