Aim:
To compile, document, and present your top 3 3D design projects using visuals, descriptions, and reflections.
Requirements
-
Blender renders or screenshots of 3D designs
-
Presentation tool: Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Canva
-
Reflection notebook or printed worksheet for writing project insights
-
Optional: Short video clips or printed images for display
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Select Your Best Designs
Go through all your past projects — from Lesson 1 to Lesson 5.
Pick three designs that best show:
-
Creativity: Unique or interesting concept
-
Functionality: Solves a problem or helps someone
-
Improvement: Shows how you refined the idea
Write a few notes on why each project made it to your top three.
Step 2: Capture High-Quality Renders
In Blender:
-
Open each design and set up simple lighting and camera view.
-
Capture renders from multiple angles — top, side, and perspective.
-
Use neutral backgrounds to keep the focus on your model.
-
Save each render as a .PNG or .JPG file with clear names (e.g., pen_holder_final.png).
Optional: Add annotations or labels to highlight key features (like handle, hinge, or stand).
Step 3: Reflect on Each Design
For each project, write a short reflection answering these questions:
|
Question |
Your Notes |
|
What was the idea behind this design? |
|
|
What problem does it solve or improve? |
|
|
Which Blender tools did you use most? |
|
|
What feedback did you get and how did you improve it? |
|
|
What did you learn from making it? |
This step helps you understand your design thinking — and communicate it clearly to others.
Step 4: Build Your Portfolio Slides
In Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Canva:
-
Title Page: Add your name, class, and portfolio title (e.g., My 3D Design Showcase).
-
Introduction Slide: A short paragraph about your design journey.
-
Project Slides (x3):
-
Include rendered images (top, side, and perspective views).
-
Add project title (e.g., Desk Organizer for Students).
-
Write your reflection summary (from Step 3).
-
Mention tools used and skills learned.
-
-
Conclusion Slide: Reflect on your overall journey — what inspired you, what challenged you, and what’s next.
Optional: Add a QR code to your Sketchfab or 3D sharing link.
Step 5: Present Your Portfolio
Now, share your creative journey!
You can present in any of these ways:
-
Class Presentation: Show slides and explain each design briefly.
-
Exhibition Display: Print renders and mount them on a board.
-
Digital Showcase: Upload your portfolio online (Google Drive, Canva, or school blog).
Use confident, clear speech when presenting:
“This design solves the problem of messy desks. I used the Boolean and Scale tools to create custom slots for pens and clips.”
Step 6: Peer Review and Reflection
After presenting:
-
Ask classmates or mentors for feedback.
-
Note what impressed them and what could improve next time.
-
Add a short reflection page at the end:
“The most challenging part was modeling curves. I improved by practicing the Extrude tool. Next time, I’ll try adding textures and lighting.”
This makes your portfolio more authentic and reflective.
