C9: Design Thinking & Industrial Design

Aim:
To identify a real problem by talking to someone from your school or community.

Requirements:

  • Questionnaire sheet

  • Pen and paper

Steps:

  1. Choose someone to interview (e.g., janitor, teacher, classmate).

  2. Ask simple questions:

    • What do you do every day?

    • What tasks feel difficult, tiring, or annoying?

  3. Write down their answers carefully.

  4. Highlight any problems they mentioned.

  5. Brainstorm 2–3 design ideas that could solve one of their problems.

Working of the Activity
Listening to others helps us see things we often miss. Interviews make sure we’re solving the right problem, not just any problem.
