Aim
To identify IoT devices and analyze their benefits and risks.
Requirements
- Chart paper or classroom board
- Pictures of IoT devices (smart bulb, smart fridge, Alexa, smartwatch, etc.)
Steps
Step 1: Introduction
Show students pictures of different IoT devices and ask: “What do you notice about these devices?”
Step 2: Discussion
Explain how each device works when connected to the internet. For example:
- A smart bulb can be turned on with a phone app.
- A smartwatch can track heart rate and send alerts.
Step 3: Make a T-Chart
On chart paper or board, make two columns: Pros and Cons.
- Pros may include: saves time, gives comfort, saves energy, remote control.
- Cons may include: privacy risk, costly, needs internet connection.
Step 4: Student Participation
Ask students to add their own examples of IoT devices they have seen or used.
